Good Haven Equine Rescue is dedicated to saving equines from abuse, neglect, and slaughter, restoring their health and trust, and ensuring they find secure and nurturing forever homes.

Our goal is to rescue at risk equines in the slaughter pipeline and to provide a safe haven for equines suffering from abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. We provide rehabilitation, love, and care until equines can be placed in forever, permanent homes. We also educate the public on the realities of horse slaughter and bring awareness to the horrendous conditions they endure while in the slaughter pipeline.

Hi, I’m Andrea, and I started Good Haven Equine Rescue in 2023 — though my love for horses began when I was a child. I have rescued horses throughout my entire life, taking any opportunity to help when I could, but always dreaming of expanding into a non-profit to help more horses than I could do alone.
In 2023, I was finally able to turn that dream into reality, founding Good Haven Equine Rescue as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) with the resources and space to make a bigger impact.
Before I could officially begin, in 2024, a tornado devastated my acreage, destroying all the outbuildings I had spent years restoring. I, along with my husband, spent the last year rebuilding, and now, with stronger foundations and renewed determination, we are ready to continue our mission: rescuing horses, providing care, and giving them the love and second chances they deserve.
At Good Haven Equine Rescue, every horse matters — from tiny foals like Ranger and Beauty to older, cranky donkeys like Charlie. Our goal is simple: safety, care, and forever homes for every equine in our care.
